Botanical beauty brings the natural energy of plants straight to the skin. At Centifolia’s own Research Centre, the brand focuses on unlocking the powerful, life-giving ingredients in plants and transforming them into products that truly cater to your skin & hair needs.
Here’s how: The scientists spend intensive time analyzing the secrets of how actives and plants build vitality mechanisms to survive in the environment around them. The experts then replicate these secrets into unique formulas for your skin & hair.
One standout example is polyphenols. These naturally occurring compounds play a vital role in the plant world—shielding plants from UV rays and attracting pollinators like birds and insects. Found in abundance in colorful fruits and flowers, polyphenols are packed with antioxidants. In skincare, they offer effective protection from daily stressors like sun exposure and pollution, helping your skin stay healthy, vibrant, and balanced.
The Centifolia brand is built on a strong foundation of responsibility, consistency, and a people-first approach. Set in a lush, green environment, the 125-hectare site is a sanctuary for unique biodiversity. Our botanical garden is carefully maintained to support both plant and animal life, respecting the natural rhythms of the seasons and the planet.
The site is officially classified as a “Bird Refuge” by the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO) and is home to 9 listed biotopes, 177 animal species, and 148 plant species. Since 1982, Centifolia has planted over 85,000 trees of various species, all of which contribute to biodiversity while also capturing between 1 and 4 tonnes of CO2 when fully grown.
The materials: Ecodesign is all about creating products with the least possible impact on the environment, and it's a core part of everything the brand stands for. It takes into account every stage of a product’s life—from sourcing raw materials to recycling and recovery at the end of its life, and everything in between, including manufacturing, distribution, and use.
Centifolia is proud to have one of the most eco-friendly research centers and production units in the world. The company ensures that 100% of the energy consumed comes from renewable sources, with more than 50% of that energy generated on-site through a cutting-edge energy mix. The commitment to sustainability goes beyond energy. Centifolia’s been conducting carbon assessments every three years since 2010, with the most recent one showing a 6% reduction in carbon footprint. Water conservation and treatment are also top priorities; all of the company’s effluents are treated in-house using a biological process known as phyto-purification.
